Trans-feminine Surgery Resources

Trans-feminine surgeries are an important part of transgender care and include vaginoplasty, orchiectomy, facial feminization, breast augmentation, and other surgeries.  These procedures are sometimes covered by insurance, ie vaginoplasty/orchiectomy.  But procedures such as facial feminization may not be covered by insurance is considered cosmetic by the individual’s plan.  Dr. Johnson and Dr. Topal are excellent local options for breast augmentation.  Dr. Oates, Dr. Spiegel, and Dr. Winograd provide care locally in Massachusetts, however traveling for this specialized care may be preferred by some patients due to surgeon experience.  Dr. Rumer and Dr. Meltzer have large practices for transgender surgeries in Pennsylvania and Arizona, respectively.  I have summarized their practices below.

I would also like to highlight the importance of hair removal.  The Stonewall center maintains a website of options for local electrolysis and laser therapy by transgender-experienced providers  (https://www.umass.edu/stonewall/resources/western-massachusetts-trans-resource-guide/electrologistslaser-hair-removal-professionals).
